More About GEMALLOY® Dental Amalgam

GEMALLOY® is a trade name for a type of silver alloy powder, which consist of a finely dispersed mixture of extremely small spherical particles from silver-tin-copper alloy. This special composition prevents the formation of the relatively soft gamma 2 phase, which is rich in tin and susceptible to corrosion, during the sitting with mercury, thus increasing the life expectancy of the amalgam fillings as will as increasing their color stability.
